Hacer Kiroglu has long been fascinated by the stone columns of Karacaahmet Cemetery, located in Uskudar, the Asian side of Istanbul. Their symmetry echoes with Hacer's attempt to find the rhythm through repetitive acts. As she walks around the cemetery early hours in the morning, she draws a horizontal line on the columns. The video Perfect Circle is a piece with no beginning and no end, capturing the traces she leaves behind. The location -although it was not a deliberate choice- reveals the tension between life and death in the simplest and most quiet way.
